GPS Spoofing Protection for Vessels
A simple, cost-effective safety solution

Why It Matters
GPS spoofing is an increasing threat at sea. Attackers can transmit false signals that mislead navigation systems — creating serious safety, security, and commercial risks.
Vessels may appear in the wrong location on monitoring systems, which can:
- Compromise navigational safety
- Cause delays or misrouting
- Expose vessels to piracy risks
- Undermine trust with charterers and authorities
The Tarditrack Solution
Tarditrack provides real-time spoofing detection that alerts officers the moment a vessel’s position is falsified.
- Immediate alerts: know instantly if spoofing occurs
- Proactive safety: act before small issues become serious incidents
- Lightweight setup: no expensive equipment required
- Crew-friendly: installation takes minutes, no disruption to ship systems
- Flexible deployment: runs on any existing PC (onboard or shore-side)
- A simple, cost-effective safety layer
How It Works
- A small pocket-sized GPS antenna is connected to a PC.
- Tarditrack compares GPS input with satellite comms data (VSAT, Starlink, Iridium).
- If anomalies are detected, real-time alerts are sent (email / SIEM).
Key Benefits for Owners
- Low cost, high value – no specialist installation or integration
- Independent monitoring – works alongside existing systems, without interference
- Due diligence – proactive security against a recognized maritime threat
- Easy scalability – deployable across all vessels with minimal effort
Why Not Just Multi-GNSS?
A multi-GNSS receiver (e.g. GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou/QZSS/Galileo) improves coverage and redundancy, but it does not provide anti-spoofing on its own. If spoofed signals are received, it will still output position data — just from another constellation.
Tarditrack complements GNSS receivers by:
- Ingesting NMEA output as a data feed
- Performing multi-source validation (GNSS vs VSAT/Starlink/Iridium)
- Issuing real-time alerts when signals look manipulated
- Adding piracy/high-risk zone alerts regardless of receiver brand
Outcome: GNSS gives reliable signals under normal conditions; Tarditrack adds the missing anti-spoofing detection and alerting layer.

Note: Tarditrack is advisory use only; it does not alter ECDIS inputs.
